About Thunderstudy 8 Q
What is Thunderstudy?
Thunderstudy is a free CUET preparation platform built by Wondermayank. It offers chapter-wise CBT (Computer-Based Test) mock tests, real-time score analytics, a class rank leaderboard, XP-based gamification, achievement badges, and streak tracking — all without any subscription fee.
Is Thunderstudy completely free?
Yes, 100%. Every feature — mock tests, analytics, leaderboard, badges, and downloads — is completely free. There are no paywalls, premium tiers, or hidden charges. It is a passion project by Wondermayank for the CUET community. Free forever
Who created Thunderstudy and why?
Thunderstudy was created by Wondermayank — a student and developer — after noticing a gap in high-quality, free CUET prep tools. The goal was to build a platform that feels modern and motivating, not just another question dump. You can follow Wondermayank on Instagram, Telegram, or YouTube.
Which streams and subjects does Thunderstudy cover?
Thunderstudy covers all major CUET streams:

Commerce — Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics
Science — Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics
Humanities — History, Political Science, Geography, Sociology, Psychology
Languages — English (General Test)
General Test (GAT) — Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, GK
Computer Science & IP — CS, Informatics Practices
Physical Education — PE Theory

New chapters and subjects are added regularly based on community demand.
Can I use Thunderstudy on my phone?
Absolutely! Thunderstudy is fully responsive and works on all screen sizes. You can also install it as a PWA (Progressive Web App) on both Android and iOS — it works like a native app with offline support. Look for the install prompt when you visit the site.
Does Thunderstudy work offline?
Core pages load offline after the first visit thanks to PWA caching. However, live features like leaderboard, score sync, and cloud analytics require an internet connection. Install the PWA for the best offline experience.
Is there a Thunderstudy app on the Play Store or App Store?
There is no separate native app yet. Instead, you can install Thunderstudy directly from your browser as a PWA — it feels exactly like a native app, saves to your home screen, and works great. Android users see an automatic install prompt; iOS users tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Use the Report a Bug button in the More → Support section, or reach out directly on Telegram or Instagram. Feature suggestions are always welcome and many have made it into the app!
CUET Exam 8 Q
What is CUET UG?
CUET UG (Common University Entrance Test — Undergraduate) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate programs in central, state, deemed, and private universities across India. It replaced the individual university entrance tests for most participating institutions.
What is the CUET marking scheme?
CUET follows this marking scheme:

+5 for each correct answer
−1 negative marking for each wrong answer
0 for unattempted questions

Thunderstudy's mock tests replicate this exact scheme so your practice score directly maps to your real exam score.
How many questions can I attempt in CUET?
Each domain subject paper typically has 50 questions to attempt out of 60. The General Test (Section III) has 60 questions to attempt out of 75. Language papers (Section I) are typically 50/50. Always verify the latest pattern from the official NTA notification as it may change each year.
What is the ideal CUET score for top colleges?
For top central universities (DU, BHU, JNU, etc.) a score of 200–250 / 250 is typically competitive for popular programs. Use the Target Score Simulator in Thunderstudy's Analytics section to calculate exactly how many correct answers you need to hit your target. Varies by college & cutoff
How many subjects can I appear for in CUET?
Students can appear for a maximum of 6 domain subjects + at least 1 language + the General Test. The exact combination depends on your target universities' requirements. Plan your subjects carefully to maximise your options.
What is the difference between Section IA, IB, II, and III in CUET?
Section IA — 13 languages (Reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar)
Section IB — 19 additional languages
Section II — 27 domain-specific subjects (your stream subjects)
Section III — General Test: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Logical Reasoning

Thunderstudy's mock tests are organised by these sections for targeted practice.
Does CUET have negative marking?
Yes — CUET deducts −1 mark for every wrong answer. Thunderstudy's analytics show you your accuracy rate and warn you when guessing is hurting your net score. Use the Question Log to review every wrong answer after a test.
Is CUET conducted in online or offline mode?
CUET is conducted in online (CBT) mode — Computer-Based Test. This means you answer on a computer at an official test centre. Thunderstudy's CBT interface is designed to mimic this exactly, so you are already comfortable with the format on exam day.
Mock Tests & CBTs 8 Q
How do I start a mock test on Thunderstudy?
Go to the Tests tab → select your subject → choose a chapter → tap Start CBT. The CBT interface opens full-screen, mimicking the real CUET environment with a timer, question palette, and mark-for-review functionality.
Can I pause a test and resume it later?
Mock tests run with a live countdown timer and are meant to simulate exam conditions. Pausing is not supported — just like the real exam. If you close the tab, the test is auto-submitted with your answers so far. Practice under timed conditions to build real exam stamina.
How are chapter-wise CBTs different from full mock tests?
Chapter-wise CBTs focus on a single chapter at a time — perfect for targeted revision after studying a topic. Full mock tests cover the entire syllabus in one sitting, matching the actual CUET paper pattern. Use chapter CBTs during preparation and full mocks in the weeks before the exam.
Can I review my answers after a test?
Yes! After every test, you get a detailed Question Log that shows each question with your answer, the correct answer, and the explanation. You can filter by Correct / Wrong / Skipped to focus your review. All past tests are saved in your history under Results.
Are the questions in Thunderstudy CBTs original or from previous years?
Thunderstudy includes a mix of NTA-pattern original questions as well as curated questions aligned with NCERT and previous CUET papers. The question bank is continuously reviewed and updated to match current exam trends and syllabus.
What happens if my internet disconnects mid-test?
Your answers are saved locally in your browser as you go. If your connection drops and you reload within the session window, your answers are restored. However, the timer continues — so reconnect quickly. This also replicates a real test centre experience where connectivity issues don't halt your answers.
Can I retake the same chapter CBT multiple times?
Yes, unlimited retakes! Each attempt is tracked separately in your history, so you can see your improvement over time. Your Best Score is highlighted on the chapter card, and your Analytics shows the trend across all attempts.
Is the timer in Thunderstudy the same as in the real CUET?
Chapter CBTs use a scaled time based on the number of questions (roughly 1.2 minutes per question). Full mock tests use the exact CUET time allocation — 45 to 60 minutes depending on the section. The countdown is always visible and turns red in the final 5 minutes to simulate exam pressure.
Score Analytics 8 Q
What analytics does Thunderstudy provide?
The Analytics section shows:

Score Trend — line chart of all your test scores over time
Subject Breakdown — donut chart with per-subject performance
Accuracy Rate — correct vs. wrong vs. skipped ratio
Predicted Score — estimated CUET score based on your practice data
Chapter Heatmap — which chapters need the most attention
Time-per-Question — speed analysis to spot slow chapters
How is my predicted CUET score calculated?
Your predicted score is based on a weighted average of your recent test performances, accuracy, and the CUET marking scheme (+5/−1). More recent tests carry higher weight so the prediction stays current. Indicative only — actual exam scores may vary based on paper difficulty and normalisation.
Can I download my score report or share it?
Yes! Use the Download PDF Report button in Analytics to generate a beautiful PDF scorecard with your performance summary, chapter breakdown, and trend chart. You can also download your badge certificate and share it on social media.
How do I set a target score and track my gap?
Open the Target Score Simulator in Analytics, drag the sliders to set your target for each subject, and Thunderstudy will calculate exactly how many correct answers you need in each paper to hit your goal. Your current gap is shown with a colour-coded progress bar.
Does my analytics data sync across devices?
Yes — when you are signed in with your account, all test results, scores, streaks, XP, and badges sync to the cloud via Firebase. You can seamlessly switch between phone and laptop and your data stays in sync.
Can I see my weakest chapters at a glance?
Yes — the Chapter Heatmap in Analytics uses colour coding (green = strong, red = needs work) across all your subjects and chapters. Tap any chapter in the heatmap to jump directly to its practice CBT.
How do I clear my test history?
Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Clear Test History. Note this is irreversible — your analytics charts will reset. If you just want a fresh streak, you can use the reset streak option instead.
What is the Question Log?
The Question Log is your post-test review screen. It lists every question in the test with: your selected answer, the correct answer highlighted, the explanation, and the time you spent. Filter by ✅ Correct, ❌ Wrong, or ⏭ Skipped. This is the most powerful revision tool on the platform.
Rank Tracker & Leaderboard 6 Q
What is the Thunderstudy class rank leaderboard?
The Leaderboard ranks all Thunderstudy users by their overall XP and average test score. You can see your global rank, your position among your subject-mates, and how far you are from the next rank. It refreshes in real time after every test submission.
How is my rank calculated?
Rank is based on your total XP points, which you earn by completing tests, maintaining streaks, unlocking badges, and achieving milestones. Tests with higher accuracy give more XP. Tie-breaking is done by average score percentage.
Is the leaderboard visible to other users?
Yes — the leaderboard shows display names and avatars publicly. If you prefer privacy, you can change your display name to a nickname in Settings → Profile. Your actual email and personal details are never visible to other users.
Can I filter the leaderboard by subject?
Yes! The leaderboard has filter tabs for each subject group — Commerce, Science, Humanities, GAT, and more. You can see who is topping your specific subject area. There is also a Weekly Rank view showing just the past 7 days.
Does the leaderboard reset every month?
The All-Time Leaderboard never resets. The Weekly Leaderboard resets every Monday at midnight. Monthly leaderboard seasons may be introduced in future updates — follow Telegram for announcements.
How do I improve my rank quickly?
The fastest ways to climb the leaderboard:
1. Maintain your daily streak — streak bonus XP multiplies over time
2. Score 80%+ accuracy in tests — high-accuracy tests give bonus XP
3. Unlock badges — each badge awards a one-time XP bonus
4. Complete all chapters in a subject for the subject mastery bonus
XP, Badges & Streaks 8 Q
What is XP and how do I earn it?
XP (Experience Points) are the currency of progress on Thunderstudy. You earn XP by:

• Completing a CBT (base XP scaled by score)
• Scoring 100% in a chapter (Perfect score bonus)
• Maintaining a daily study streak
• Unlocking achievement badges
• Logging in daily (login bonus)

XP determines your leaderboard rank and unlocks new profile levels.
What badges can I earn on Thunderstudy?
Thunderstudy has dozens of achievement badges including:

🥇 First Test — Complete your very first CBT
🔥 Streak Master — 7, 30, 100-day streak milestones
💯 Perfect Score — Score 100% in any chapter
🎓 Subject Champ — Complete all chapters in a subject
Speed Demon — Finish a test with 2+ minutes to spare
🏆 Top 10 — Reach the global leaderboard top 10

Go to Achievements to see the full badge gallery with locked/unlocked status.
What is a study streak?
A study streak is the count of consecutive days you have completed at least one CBT. Streaks are shown on your dashboard home card with a flame icon 🔥. The longer your streak, the higher your XP multiplier. Streaks reset to 0 if you miss a day.
I forgot to study yesterday. Will my streak break?
Unfortunately yes — streaks require daily activity to stay alive. However, Thunderstudy sends a daily reminder notification (if you have allowed browser/app notifications) to help you remember. There is no streak freeze feature currently, but it is planned for a future update.
Can I download and share my badges?
Yes! Tap any earned badge → tap Download Certificate. You get a beautifully designed PNG/PDF certificate with your name, badge, date, and Thunderstudy branding. Share it on Instagram, WhatsApp, or anywhere. Tag @wondermayank to get featured!
Do badges and XP carry over to the next academic year?
Yes. Your XP, badges, and profile progress are permanently saved to your account. Only the weekly leaderboard resets. Your achievements are yours to keep forever.
What are XP levels and what do they unlock?
XP levels go from Beginner → Explorer → Scholar → Expert → Champion → Legend. Each level unlocks a new profile frame, title, and bonus features. Your current level and progress bar are shown on your Profile card on the Home dashboard.
How do I enable study reminders?
Go to Settings → Notifications → Daily Study Reminder and toggle it on. You can set a custom reminder time (e.g. 8 PM). The reminder is sent as a browser push notification (or app notification if PWA is installed). Make sure to allow notifications when prompted.
Account & Settings 8 Q
Do I need an account to use Thunderstudy?
You can take some tests as a guest, but creating a free account is strongly recommended — it unlocks cloud sync, the leaderboard, XP, badges, notifications, and the full analytics dashboard. Sign up with Google (one tap) or email/password.
How do I sign in to Thunderstudy?
Tap the Sign In button on the home page or in the sidebar. You can sign in with:

Google — one-tap, recommended
Email + Password — traditional sign-up

Your data is secured by Firebase Authentication (Google's backend), so you never need to worry about password leaks on Thunderstudy's side.
How do I change my display name or avatar?
Go to Settings → Profile → Edit Profile. You can change your display name and choose from a set of built-in avatars or upload your own profile picture. Changes are reflected on the leaderboard instantly.
How do I switch between dark mode and light mode?
Tap the 🌙 moon / ☀️ sun icon in the top bar of the dashboard, or go to Settings → Appearance → Theme. You can choose Light, Dark, or follow your System setting. The preference is saved to your account.
How do I add or change my subjects?
Go to Settings → My Subjects. You can add or remove domain subjects that appear in your Tests tab and Analytics. This personalises your dashboard to show only the subjects relevant to your CUET plan.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm. Deleting your account permanently removes all your data — scores, XP, badges, streaks — from Thunderstudy's servers. This action is irreversible.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. Thunderstudy uses Firebase (Google) for secure auth and data storage. Your email is never visible to other users. No personal data is sold or shared with third parties. Only your display name and public XP appear on the leaderboard. See the Privacy Policy linked in the footer.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the sign-in screen tap Forgot Password and enter your email. You will receive a reset link from Firebase. If you signed up with Google, you don't have a Thunderstudy password — just sign in with Google again. Reset emails sometimes land in spam, so check there too.
Technical & Troubleshooting 8 Q
The dashboard is loading slowly. What should I do?
Try these steps:

1. Hard refresh — Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac)
2. Clear browser cache for the site
3. Switch to a different network (e.g. mobile data vs Wi-Fi)
4. Update your browser to the latest version
5. Try incognito mode to rule out extension conflicts

If the problem persists, report it via the Bug Report button.
My score did not save after a test. What happened?
Score saving requires:

• Being signed in to your account
• An active internet connection when the test ends
• Not blocking cookies / Firebase in your browser

If you were offline when the test ended, the score is saved locally and will sync when you next come online while signed in. If it still doesn't appear, report the issue with the test name and approximate time.
The dark mode toggle is not working on my device.
This is usually caused by browser extensions (like Dark Reader) overriding the site's CSS. Disable any dark mode extensions for this site and try the built-in toggle again. If your browser forces its own dark mode, go to browser settings and allow per-site theme control. Report it if the issue continues.
Charts and analytics graphs are not displaying.
Charts are powered by Chart.js loaded from a CDN. If you have a strict content blocker or firewall, it may block the CDN. Try:

1. Disable ad-blocker or allow the CDN cdn.jsdelivr.net
2. Ensure JavaScript is enabled
3. Reload the page

Charts also need at least 1 completed test to render — complete a test first if you are new.
The CBT timer ran out but the test didn't auto-submit.
Auto-submission requires JavaScript to be running and the tab to be active. If you switched to another tab and the browser throttled the background timer (common on mobile Chrome), the auto-submit may be delayed. Hit Submit manually when you notice. This edge case is being improved — report it with your device/browser details.
Notifications are not showing up on iOS.
iOS push notifications for web apps require:

1. Thunderstudy must be installed as a PWA (Add to Home Screen)
2. You must be on iOS 16.4+
3. Allow notifications in iOS Settings → Thunderstudy → Notifications

Safari on iOS does not support push notifications for browser tabs — only for installed PWAs.
What browsers are supported?
Thunderstudy is optimised for:

Best Chrome (Android & Desktop), Edge (Desktop)
Good Firefox (Desktop), Samsung Internet (Android)
Limited Safari (iOS) — PWA features require iOS 16.4+

Always use the latest version of your browser for the best experience.
Can I use Thunderstudy on a tablet?
Absolutely! Thunderstudy uses a responsive layout that adapts to tablets (iPad, Android tablet) with an optimised sidebar navigation. On tablets in landscape mode, the full desktop sidebar is shown. Portrait mode shows the mobile dock.
